About me

My Education

In May 2013 I graduated from NC State University with a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical engineering. One of the great things about the Biomedical Engineering program was how many different technologies and fields I was exposed to. One semester would be full of electrical engineering classes and the next mechanical engineering. Some of my favorite subjects included signal analysis and programming.

My Skills

My strongest technical skills include programming and electrical design. I have been programming in a variety of languages starting as soon as I got my first computer. I started off in QBasic back in DOS and moved up to Visual Basic in a Windows environment. My love of programming really exploded when I started learning C++ from a game programming book. Learning C++ while trying to make my own games was quite a challenge and I quickly moved away from game programming. I dabbled a bit in writing a from scratch operating system that really taught me the low level programming that I still enjoy today. Some of the other languages I have worked with include PHP, Java and Python with Python being my second favorite behind C++.

My love of electronics also started at a really young age with an electronics project lab that I received as a birthday present. It was basically a bunch of resistors and capacitors and other components attached to this cardboard piece with little spring terminals where you inserted the wires. I can remember countless hours of following the guide to put together all of the different example circuits and changing all the different parts to see what each one did. I have since progressed to much more complex circuits using Altium to put together the schematics and layout the circuit boards.

Proudly powered by Pelican, which takes great advantage of Python.
